Title: Tropical storm Calvin forms in the Eastern Pacific
Post by: elagache on June 12, 2017, 11:50:23 PM
Dear WeatherCat extreme weather observers (preferably observing that extreme weather from a safe distance!)

The National Hurricane Center has started issuing advisories for Tropical Storm Calvin:

;) . . . However thus far, the National Hurricane Center hasn't commented on when we can expect Hobbes (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Calvin_and_Hobbes) to join the fray!  . . .  lol(1)

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Ha ha ha. It snowed 3 inches at our place this afternoon. This is the latest we have had snow in the ten years we have lived here.

Dear Blick and WeatherCat observers of the seasons turning,

Ha ha ha. It snowed 3 inches at our place this afternoon. This is the latest we have had snow in the ten years we have lived here.

Your snow might have come from an unusually strong low pressure center that came through California late last week and over the weekend.  We picked up a hundredth, but East of us there was significant rain and thunder.

Alas, that is all a distant memory as the temperatures are supposed to rise steadily until reaching the mid-90s over the weekend (~ 35˚ C).  Nor is much relief expected after that.  This afternoon, firefighters are fighting the second grass fire in the region over these past few weeks.  Looking like a hot, unpleasant, and potentially dangerous summer after all the rains.
