Dear Irving and WeatherCat observers of the season's turning,

This time of year, Oct-Nov, the sunrise has moved southwards and can result in nice colors reflected on clouds over the mountains.
. . . .
This photo was taken with my Canon Powershot computer-controlled webcam pointed SE.

Another create shot Irving!  The only thing I wonder is if you could have brought out more of the color with a more sophisticated camera.  Is the Powershot as good a camera as you've got in the house?

Cheers, Edouard

A bruding evening cloud bank . . . (Re: Moods of the sky . . . 2016-17)

Dear WeatherCat shutterbugs, . . . .

We are expecting stormy weather but the sunrise skies have not been the dramatic color associated with: "red sky at morning - sailor's warning."  Nonetheless, Tuesday evening we had this very unusual colorful cloud bank:

Evening shots are rare indeed given the location of my weather instruments.  So here's something as a change of pace!

Enjoy!    :)

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Red sky but no storm (Re: Moods of the sky . . . 2016-17)

Dear WeatherCat shutterbugs,

Yesterday we had a nice display of red-orange clouds shortly before dawn:

Alas the pretty red colors didn't bring us any rain.  After a great October, November is definitely starting dry.

Oh well,. . . . . Edouard

Not even one bucket tip (Re: Moods of the sky . . . 2016-17)

Dear Steve, Irving, and WeatherCat observers of the changing skies,

Thanks for sharing Irving your pictorial forecast.  You have a wonderful vantage point for your webcam!

Alas here in California high pressure is back in control.  A weak storm tried to push its way in this morning but couldn't generate a single bucket tip at my station.

After a feast of rainfall for October, we are back to the famine of drought thus far in November . . . .

Oh well, . . . . . Edouard

Hi folks,

The sun now comes up over the mountains in view of my webcam. This morning clear sky and wintery -5C.
