Steel Gauges!  Please

That would be nice  [bounce]
For those who don't know what the Steel Gauges are, here is a good example: http://wairoa.net/weather/gauges-ss.htm

I have tried to get these to work with WC, but it's way beyond my level of expertise.
I did manage to get the old Cumulus live gauges working... sort of http://www.oamaruweather.net.nz/live.html

Though they do look cool, I do wonder just how many people notice the "live" part, I've settled for just uploading WC's gauages to my website every 10 minutes.

Steel Gauges!  Please

[tup] We talked a bit about those back in development. :) The Steel Gauges that rasaisi is talking about is the SteelSeries scripts developed by Mark Crossley early this year for Cumulus and Weather Display weather software. I'm not even sure they will work on the Mac version of WeatherD? Here are link to the forums that discusses them.

And here's a link to Mark's site displaying the live updating gauges. Mousing over a gauge shows its relevant chart.

Are there any plans to add an .xml file output to support the yoWeather PWS format?

Thanks

I am currently working on integrating these for use with WC but it is a bit of a slow process. So far I have "most" of the gauges working but the tool tips (i.e. popup graphs) will come later on when I can confirm the gauges all work as they should.

You can see the beta of the integration at http://weather.kcsolutions.com.au/gauges-ssT.html but keep in mind that there is still quite a way to go yet and the majority of links on the page do not work yet as I am concentrating on the gauges.

Vert nice, Col! Good to have someone with some programming working on that. We're all gonna need a template, ya know. ;)

Thanks!

If you get it written up, I'll add it as a sticky to in the web templates forum.

There are Growl AppleScripts (Re: See In A Mac Weather Program?)
« Reply #23 on: January 18, 2013, 12:30:10 AM »
Hi Chet and WeatherCat fans,  [cat]

I would like to see weathercat linked to Lion's notification center.

If you are up to a little do-it-yourself, I have written some AppleScripts that provide Growl Notifications from WeatherCat.  You can learn more about them here:

http://athena.trixology.com/index.php?topic=231.0

My understanding is that you can now route all Growl notifications to the OS-X Notification center, so that would be an indirect way to get what you've asked for.  Unfortunately some software that I really, really depend on won't run on Lion or Mountain Lion, so for the moment I've stuck running Snow Leopard and cannot verify this for myself.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Hi
I am a new french user and starts apreciate Weathercat and I already asked a lot of stupid questions on this forum :)

i've try WD for mac (so lot of bugs) so i prefer to speak about weathercat

is it possible to have tables of statistics todays / yesterday, month / year; records, monthly record  more actractifs  like http://weather.wilmslowastro.com/monthlyrecord.htm
directly transferable via ftp from "WCWeb" ?

I will like to have the real time with weathercat gauges (watch_weather.php) like weathercat client

and the ability to retrieve records from another software, in my case archives since 2006

and in the future be able to configure and create web pages via weathercat to have a beautiful website for non-professional php, html ..... like me  ::)

for the moment :I think I know use : tags , stellserie gauges , real time with weathercat  (I will like to have the real time with weathercat gauges ) weathercatclient

thank you again for this very good aplication for mac and excuse me for my bad english

Here's a short list:
1) Shorter intervals between logging of samples, especially for those channels with high update rates, i.e. wind, temperature, rain. This may require separate log files.
2) Additional channels and intervals for custom charts, especially monthly and yearly statistics.
3) Ability to control the precision of statistics, e.g. allowing all averages to be formatted to four decimal places, etc.
4) Statistics from the weather station itself (or sensors), e.g. Vantage data logger interval, battery status, console voltage, etc.
5) Automatic membership into the WIKI upon registration in the Forum, i.e. enable the transfer of knowledge to the WIKI

How about daily, weekly, monthly and yearly rain totals.

You already capture the daily.  Use a spreadsheet and just do some math.

Use the blue display board to show in one line DT ( daily total, WT ( weekly total ) reset those at those at the effective end of the time period.  MT ( monthly total ) which could be stored as a drop down for precious information, and YT ( yearly ) which adds MT for a total only field.

Would like more flexibility in the custom graphs. For example, would like to be able to set the times displayed to last year and not only this year.

Is there a chance we'll see NOAA style climate reports please (monthly, annual) which can be easily added to custom web pages?

With some luxury features like this it would be even better: http://saratoga-weather.org/scripts-NOAAtxt.php#NOAAtxtPHP   :)

And yes, I know WC has reporting capabilities and generates PDF's but it's not really the same. NOAA reports are the reason I boot up Weatherlink every couple of weeks, and I would be willing to pay for a WC upgrade which offers this...

Thanks,

Jos
