Sunshine Hours Not working...
« on: January 26, 2013, 12:27:13 AM »
I decided to put a line for Sunshine hours for my two weather stations.  It's working fine for my NY station, but not for Maine.  The latter does not have a UV sensor but the almanac does show a record for the sunniest day on record.

Any thoughts?  The text/code is exactly the same.

It's likely your sunshine isn't yet strong enough to register as being sunshine that counts towards sunshine hours. WeatherCat simulates a Campbell-Stokes sunshine recorder (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Campbell?Stokes_recorder) - it calculates whether the paper is burnt or not; if so it adds that time period to the sunshine hours.

Is temperature involved in that calculation (it has been really cold up in Maine, like -10 to -20 at night and a high of around 3-10 degrees - for about 5 days).
