up and running also.
only glitch: the dialog box that shows progress on the data backup didn't close but it was gone with a restart of WC

Thank you folks - interesting info about the backup dialog Drew, thanks for letting me know.
Seeing Tony's temperature there makes me feel relatively happy about our current 12 ?C :)

Downloaded and running WCat Version 1.01 Build 143 (1.0.1) so far no problems, using Lion Ver: 10.7.4

We've had some good frosts, but beautiful sunny days... unfortunately not much heat in the sun.
Another Antarctic blast coming mid week. [freeze]

Installed and working well.
Stu,
Sorry for the 'daft' comment but whenever I upgrade, I always think to myself: "was there anything special I needed to do or keep in mind to ensure a fault free upgrade?"
It is as simple as overwriting the ..\Applications\Weathercat folder (I typically backup the original one first) but it may nevertheless be worthwhile to put a few words in the !!!README_FIRST!!!.rtfd to remind users that it is really this simple and they do not need to be worried?
Maybe a note on wether the Client app has changed and needs updating too?
Thanks,
Jos

Fair point Jos - for the next release I'll add a quick upgrade section (basically just replace your current WeatherCat folder with the new one).
For 1.1 there were no changes to the client, just WeatherCat itself.
Cheers,
Stu.

Howdy Stu and WeatherCat fans,
Version 1.0.1 of WeatherCat has been running like a champ! [rockon] It went for 8 days as a release candidate and continues to work perfectly now that it is final.
;) Just one small problem . . . It somehow cannot continue running when my MacBook has a kernel panic :o - imagine that!! [lol2]
Cheers, Edouard [cheers1]

Been running the new version since day it was released, not a problem at all in the running. Booting it up it kept asking to back up data, and could not find my weather station. i have had to do this multiple times as the PC I am running on it as well needed complete restarts. So the Cat is quite comfortable sitting on my Mac, purring away and not putting a paw wrong. That's my tale anyway, fur now at least, unless there is a claws in the agreement somewhere
I know, I know, shut up and go to bed.
Best wishes
Mike

Hi Mike,
If it keeps asking for backup and can't find the station on every boot, it indicates it can't read it's preferences file.
I would quit WeatherCat then use Disk Utility (Applications->Utilities->Disk Utility) to check the permissions and the disk itself. If this all checks out and the problem still exists, try restoring WeatherCat's preferences file from a known working backup.
The preferences file lives at:
~/Library/Preferences/com.trixology.weathercat.plist
If you don't have a backup file, rename the existing preferences file then boot WeatherCat - in this case you'll have to go through the preferences and set it up as it was previously - but the problem should then be resolved.
Hope this helps,
Stu.

CHeers for that. I have run a Permission repair, so I will see how things go along. Cat performing flawlessly.
Best wishes

Very small point, The Gladstone Page is not reflecting the updated version. We have seen this before. Cheers
-
What page isn't it being reported on?
The various versions seem to be reported ok at:

Hi Stu, Dogear, and WeatherCat fans,
http://weather.gladstonefamily.net/site/D2610
So I'm guessing the problem is that WeatherCat is being shown as 1.00 instead of 1.01?
That is a little odd. WeatherCat 1.1 Beta is showing up correctly on my CWOP Q/A page (http://weather.gladstonefamily.net/site/d3835).

Hi Cat Fans
It is showing up on my gladstone page OK here also

Hi Dogear,
I've just had a quick run around CWOP and checked other sites running 1.0.1 - they are reporting correctly. Can you go to the 'WeatherCat' menu, then select 'About WeatherCat' and check the version number there please. I'm wondering if you're running one of the development 1.0.1's - the build number should be either 143 (10.6 or later) or 144 (10.5) - earlier than this and it's a development build.
Thanks,
Stu.

Yup running the correct version, 1.0.1 build 143. The main APRS findu page has the correct version it looks like it is just not getting listed correctly on the Gladstone page.
