Title: WeatherCat Version 2.0.2 Released
Post by: Administrator on December 28, 2014, 09:14:54 AM
We are very pleased to be able to announce that WeatherCat version 2.0.2 is now available!

Changes in this release include:

1. Fixed a crash that could happen on WMR 928/968 if the serial to USB driver did not open.
2. Added support for Instromet MetPlus stations
3. Fixed a potential crash as sampling time.
4. WeatherCat client is updated to V1.3.2 to fix a bug whereby external humidity would be invalid if the internal humidity was invalid.
5. Documentation update.

Full change notes can be found in the download or on the WeatherCat wiki at http://wiki.trixology.com/index.php/Release_Notes (http://wiki.trixology.com/index.php/Release_Notes).

As always, WeatherCat V2.0.2 (Build 30) is available for immediate download from our WeatherCat page at: http://trixology.com/weathercat/ (http://trixology.com/weathercat/)

Chet:

Until there is such an option in WeatherCat, you can do the following:

1. In the forum, click on WeatherCat Releases
2. At the top right hand side, click on Notify

You will now receive an email whenever anything new is posted in this section of the forum.

See the attached screenshot.

Hi Chet,

the Update reminder is built in WC - if there is an update available the following window appears (and its translated into german, too  :) )

Cheers,
Reinhard

Reinhard, I have never seen that message. I assume it only runs at startup. Apparently the email notification from the forum gets to me before I restart WeatherCat. But Chet apparently has not restarted WeatherCat since December 28, 2014 or he would have seen the update window.

There is also another way to find out about new releases. Go to the WeatherCat home page at http://trixology.com and subscribe with your email address. You will receive notices of new posts.
Title: Updates are supposed to work. (Re: WeatherCat Version 2.0.2)

Dear Chet, Reinhard, Blick and WeatherCat fans,

Reinhard, I have never seen that message. I assume it only runs at startup.

The update feature is new as of WeatherCat 2.x if I recall correctly.  If my memory serves me, the private beta-test team did confirm that it was working properly before Stu let it loose as a public beta.  Unfortunately, the "leading edgers" of the private beta test team never get to test this feature because we are running the newest version of WeatherCat before Stu lets it loose on the public.  So if it got broke between 2.0.x and 2.1.x it would be hard to spot.  If there appears to be a bug we might have to ask Stu to create another test to see if indeed something has gone wrong.  It is relatively recent code so the risk of bugs is a bit higher.

Cheers, Edouard  [cheers1]

Hi Edouard, Reinhard, Blick, Chet, and WC family
Reinhard is correct but I think it is only for new complete version releases not betas that we have been running here
Like WC 2.0.2

Currently auto update is disabled in WeatherCat 2 - you won't see any update messages. As Blic posted, you can  subscribe to this forum for notification or subscribe on the Trixology website. You can also follow on Twitter (again, button the main web-site home page).
